I needed a way to keep the battery in my truck from being completely drained after 2 days. My truck has the side mounted terminals which means that taking off the negative terminal by hand takes too long. I heard about battery kill switches that isolates the battery stopping the battery from being drained by parasitic draw. Ideally I would fix whatever is draining the battery, I will leave that as a problem for future me to solve.
The kill switch that I am using is from Harbor Freight, quick, simple and a cheap temporary fix to my battery problem.
I temporarily used battery cable/wire I also bought from Harbor Freight, I did not splice into the cable that normally is secured to the battery. I did not want to buy the tools needed to add the terminals to the wire.
